Radiant Begins Production on Short Film about Moshe Alafi for UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business

San Francisco and Berkeley.

Radiant Features began principal photography on a short biographical film about pioneer biotechnology investor, Moshe Alafi. In the 1970s and 80s, Alafi baffled his colleagues with his keen insight and intuitive approach to venture capital investment, often investing first dollars into nascent biotechnology business concepts. Alfai was a pioneer investor in Cetus, Biogen, Amgen, Tanex, Applied Biosystems, and Qiagen. What set Alafi apart from other venture investors of his time was his belief in the promise of biotechnology and his unwavering support of scientists who could make that promise a reality. In Alafi’s words,”It was gambling, it was as simple as that. But I believed we could change the world.”

The Lester Center for Entrepreneurship at UC Berkeley’s Haas Business School has commissioned this short biographical film to screen in March 2012 at a lifetime achievement award event for Moshe Alafi. Radiant Features is very pleased to be working with Lester Center Director, Andre Marquis and Lester Center supporter and biotech venture capital investor, John Steuart on this project.  – Bill
