Sound Yurt Recognized by KCRW’s Sonic Trace Competition

Radiant’s Bill Ferehawk was recognized today by KCRW for his cheeky competition entry titled “Sound Yurt.”  Ferehawk commented that, “Mongolian-inspired-70s-retro is really hot right now, especially in mobile sound booth design, so I decided to go that route.”  The competition asked designers to create a mobile-demountable sound booth to be used on the road for a radio documentary project called Sonic Trace. Ferehawk also noted that his design was inspired by his year visiting and studying American intentional communities in the early 1990s.
