Panama Canal Special Starts Production

April 10, 2014 – Panama City and Colon, Panama.

Radiant is in production on a one hour special for the History Channel about the expansion of the Panama Canal. Currently the existing locks are not large enough for the growing fleet of very large container ships. A new super-sized set of locks is currently under construction that will allow super container ships to pass through the Panama Canal. And they are big. Each new set of locks is comprised of three lock chambers. Each chamber is large enough to hold the Empire State Building. The length of each set of locks is like lining up three Empire State Buildings end-to-end.

Shooting near the equator has been expectidly hot but surprisingly very dusty. We have an amazing crew of Panamanians and Americans. Every member of the crew really contributed to this successful production. – Bill
